This feature in my personal branding insight series features Bristol based social media manager Abi, founder of Abigail Hunter Marketing. Abi is an expert at helping businesses with what can often be an overwhelming side of business - social media.
Abi came to me with a real appreciation for how important having professional brand imagery is for a business, particularly to ensure consistency across social channels, We booked two sessions in different locations and with careful planning, the results have provided Abi with an extensive bank of bright and fresh new brand imagery to implement across her marketing.
Here’s an insight into Abi's brand photography experience along with a selection of images from two exciting branding shoots ...

Please tell us about your business and where we can find you on social media
Hi, my name is Abi and I run Abigail Hunter Marketing. My business is a social media management and consultancy agency. I work with independent businesses, primarily in the South West, to save my clients time and energy with their social media accounts.
I began working in the beauty and aesthetics industry as I had a passion for the nature of the work myself, however have since expanded to a variety of businesses including those in construction, property and recruitment.
I alleviate the stress of social media for my clients and ensure their platforms are successfully reaching their target audience for the purpose of brand awareness, client communication and of course, bringing new clients through the door.

What were your main reasons to invest in a branding shoot?
As a social media professional, I recommend brand shoots to every single client I work with and of course invest in them myself. A brand shoot enables you to have a bank of images that truly reflect your brand ethos and showcase your personality which is arguably the biggest selling point of any business.
I now have a huge collection of professional images to be used across my own social media and website, which enable me to successfully market my business consistently. As I always say to my own clients, consistency is the number one thing that separates a successful social media account to an unsuccessful one.

What advice/tips would you give to other businesses planning a branding shoot?
My advice to anyone considering a brand shoot would be two things:
1. DO IT... find a way to make it happen. It is a non-negotiable investment in my creative focused eyes.
2. Really invest the time into your consultation with Ellie and overshare everything about you and your business. Ellie is the professional and if she can visualise and feel the passion for your brand in the way you do, she will ensure you get the exact right imagery you need.
Side Note: You can never have too many props! Dedicate the day before to preparing properly and ensure you feel ready not just physically, but mentally too. No alcohol for a good few days before definitely helps! *wink*
Please tell us about your shoot - the location, style of images etc
For my shoot, Ellie and I shot in two different locations with very different looks. Most of my work I do from home or the office, so wanted the environment I work in to be reflected in the images. The shoot I did with Ellie was also intended to be a huge update of my marketing material so it could be used across all platforms, including socials, website and even print press. However, as I offer different services within the business, and do have some new ones coming, I needed a variety of images that were on brand but differed in their appearance to showcase this.
Like Ellie, my preferred style of imagery is very light and bright, naturally lit with beautiful soft tones and a feminine edge. I am passionate about bringing femininity to the corporate world so was really happy Ellie was able to help me capture this.
How has your branding shoot benefited your business?
My branding shoot, even after a few weeks, has MASSIVELY BENEFITED my business. My social media already looks SO much more professional and on brand, giving it the updated modern look it was desperately craving.
It has also given me a fresh leap of motivation to create content and my web designers who are currently redoing my whole website cannot praise the images more. It has made the process of having my new website done 10x easier for all of us, as the bulk of the content is already created and it gives them a very on brand visual to work with.
I also have enough content to probably last a good few years now, whatever way I choose to direct the business.

Thank you to Abi for contributing to this insightful feature and for this lovely review!
" Ellie, you are incredible at what you do!
You have exquisitely captured the soul of my brand throughout every image and I am so pleased with the professional standard of your work which I now have to use throughout my marketing for the business.
It was such a joy to work with someone organised, reliable and who clearly invested a lot of mental energy into fully understanding my brand and what I wanted to show throughout my images for my own clients. We also had so much fun and I am so excited to continue working with you on many future projects. Thank you so much for all your hard work. "
